ZONING/BUILDING PERMITS

Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code

On July 7, 2004, the Warwick Township Board of Supervisors adopted the new statewide building code, officially known as the Uniform Construction Code (UCC). This code will be administered and enforced in every municipality throughout the Commonwealth.

The UCC sets minimum standards for design and construction; the 2009 International Residential Code is the new standard for residential construction while the 2009 International Building Code is the new standard for non-residential construction.

The PA Department of Labor & Industry offers comprehensive information about the new code on their website.

Please note, although certain uses are exempt from building permits, a zoning permit might still be required for these uses. These uses include, but are not limited to: driveways, decks & patios on grade, fences, and sheds & accessory structures containing less than 1,000 sf.
